Do program directors remember or keep track of the applicants who actually call for info instead of just sending an email for info? Does it improve our chances in getting an interview? thanks

No, I don't keep track of the names of the people that call me. It doesn't increase your chances.

and do you keep track of the applicants the last year?? if they are re-applying to the same program this year?? i don't think so, but anyway, just curious.

This was interesting to know. One of the program websites said- 'If you have not got an interview last year it is highly unlikely you will get one this year'. It was one of the answers to FAQs. I donot remember which program though.

Only if the name was so unique that I remember it from one year to another. I sometimes can remember who was invited. And if an applicant was accepted for an interview, scheduled an interview, and didn't show up for his interview without an email or telephone call - they will not get another chance.
