I have a questions about history taken. I think that I will have to write some things down while listening to the SP (I'm afraid I won't be able to remember all the information to write the PN). AT the same time I worry that this will make me waist time, also I won't be able to make enough eye contact with the SP.. What is your advice? How much do you wrote in your sheet during your encounter with the SP? Thanks!!

Congratulations man, i have 2 questions which might sound dumb but i'll ask them anyway 1-everybody advises to start with PAMHUGFOSS. but if i see a pt. with chest pain, should i go through the list e.g.the HUGFOSS part or ask about the chest pain first and then move on to other systems ? 2- how do you keep track of the time really? i mean they say 7-8 minutes for history and then PE but how can you know when is 7-8 minutes? is it appropriate to look at your watch in front of the SP? thanks alot for your help

jorgglez well it is ok to make notes but dont write too much and not at all at the cost of not able to maintain eye contact with the patient. practice with someone dragonfly well obviously the chief complaint comes first and has to b asked in detail...eg..for any pain..liqoraaa.the past hx and the other things of pamhugsfoss comes after that well if u hav practised then time management is not a prob at all ...and infact i used to come out 3-4 mins b4 time even in a cns case it is not abt spending all d time with d patient ..its abt asking d relevant questions and doing d proper examination hope this helps guys im sorry 4 delay in d reply.actually i have my step 2 in 5 days from now take care
