hi guys I am applying for surgery and only surgery. I have come to know that applying for both cat and prelim increases my chances of matching. But when applying for prelim, they ask for the subsequent subspeciality that the applicant wishes to pursue the residency in. But I want to continue with gen surgery. What should I do?

they ask for what subspeciality if it's a designated prelim position. If it's a non-designated prelim position, they don't have to ask for that.
