Hi!!

I wanted to thank everyone who has helped me out with the NBME questions for this topic. But I still have some questions that were are unanswered and my exam is in 2 weeks! sad Can you please help me out with them? I wanted to understand also why it is the correct answer and I have been having trouble finding the reasoning behind these particular questions.

I've attached 4 files in this topic, I have to do it in separate replies below cuz it only lets me attach one file at a time..

i would like to know the exact answers as well , but here is what i found out , would like to know if im woring

16. H ( ??? not sure)

24. A : astrocytes ( as they r the macrophages of the CNS)

26. E : transverse colon (it has the over lappin area supplied by sup & inf mesenteric.a)

39. C : integrin (checked kaplan immuno notes, very sure about it , see the table on adhision molecule at the end of the book)

44. A : cystic hygroma ( it is the only choice the makes sence as the other possibility might be the branchial cyst but thats not evident at birth , cystic hygroma is )

49.D : transversalis fasia ( not sure )

29. D : hmonymous ( prety sure )

10. A : brain dead ( other choice which might confuse is persistent veg stat/coma, in which EEG will show sleep-wake cycles, but this pt is not showin any thing on EEG)

4. C : ( not sure at all )

6. H : ( not sure )

38. F/A : ( not so sure either )

i hope it helped u a lil i have my exam in 3 wks as well and i would like to get the correct answers as well

in #38, can u tell me what structures X, Y, Z are and also where Y and Z lie in the brain... thanx

X- anterior temporal lobe
Y- Upper part of nasal cavity (open to correction)
Z- upper part of 4th ventricle-(region is just behind the pons)-post cranial fossa

Lesion to the occipital brain causes homonimous emianopia, causes lateral part of left retina remains lateral, nasal part of the right retina crosses..and they arrive to the same left side of the brain....
