hi i have one question for you actually i failed step1 twice and got 79 now i am working hard to score high in step2ck (above 95) and going to take step2cs next month and i really wanted to take step3 before i apply for residency and going to join observership in university based hospital in oct and do that for atleast 6 months and finally apply for 2008 match , i am very much confident that i am going to do all these but i wanted to know what are my chances getting in to IM programm?your ideas and suggestions are much appreciated. thank you i want to make sure before i proceed further. waiting for your reply ,bye.

I believe that if you can do all that you should have a good chance, especially for programs that prefer clinical experience over the number of attempts. I know a person who made it in despite flunking one of the steps so its not impossible. 6 months of observership should be pretty good especially if you end up with 2-3 solid recommendations. Hi someone told me that it is very difficult to get in to residency and they say that i have very few chances for interviews plz help me what should i do ? should i stop here and think of alternative or proceed furthur i am very dissapointed help me out .actually i dont want to think of alternative .

you can try it. it's not impossible. you should investigate very well about the requirements of the residency programs to maximize your resources.
