Hi, I asked my referees to send lors by Aug 31 and then read a thread saying that the ERAS will update the documents in 2-3 weeks in Sep. So if all my documents ready in mid-late Sep, will I be laid behind?

Programs can start interviewing when they want - most in November. But they are still uploading ERAS materials (heck, I was still receiving updates in March).
My standard line is to apply as early as you can, with as complete of an application as you can - the rest will fall together.
My PD and I don't even look at apps until the third week of September or so. We wait for the apps to become more complete.
