I attached my Micro/immuno questions I couldn't answer from NBME. Can you explain the right answers to me please? I attached 3 files in successive topics because it didn't let me add them all here.

44. C. it is killed and given parenterally. no exposure of GI tract as opposed to the oral live one.

40-d (hiv is also against macrophages)
44-it's because there are more serotypes, one specific for the gut

machrophages in HIV are acting as reservoirs and transporters to CNS. they are infected but not killed.

there are 3 serotypes of polio. all included in the vaccines routinly.

Note :

polio vaccines
OPV = Sabin, oral, live attenuated, activates both IgG + IgA
IPV = Salk, sc, killed(inactivated), activates only IgG, no enteric or resp. immunity

44 would be A- the advantage of live vaccines is that activate both cell mediated and humeral mmunity where as killed vaccines only activate humeral immunity
