I am a new member of this website but I have been reading your texts for more than a year. I am an old IMG, pediatrician with several years of experience in my homecountry. I am now a ecfmg certified ( passed all test on first attempt, step 181/198, step 2 83/203), green card holder and have 6 months of research experience in the Us. I really would like to know what are my chances to get a resid.position in FM in NW area. I appreciate if bbb has time to answer my question.

Well, I haven't ever worked in family medicine, I don't know what you mean by the NW area. How are your interviewing skills, do you have strong current LORs? Do you have USCE. I'll wish you well, but I don't offer up chances. Read my sig line - I'm a coward in program coordinator clothes.

Thank you all for your response. I don't have usce just two weeks of observation in pediatric departmrnt. I am interested to (in other word I have to) start FM residency in one of the states in North West area. I have heared that programs in this part of the country are not IGM friendly. By the way, I do have 4 LOR (one from research in US) and not much USCE. Appreciate your time.

the thing is when u apply in fp, ur ped exp might work to ur disadvantage. bcoz most fp pds are sick and tired of their program bein used as a doormat to other specs. i ustand u might want to geniunely do fp but u might have a hard time convincing the pd..

so what do you think, I have already been convinced that the only pediatric program in this town do not get FMG. What should I do? I feel frustrated. I even haven't started to work on my application. I don't know what to do. I am late, sometimes i wish i had another options rather than going through residency again...i really want to bea pediatrician. American board of pediatrics has waived on year of my accredited pediatric residency training although I know it doesn't mean anything here.

I'll try to contact them. Could you tell me how you found out about a vacant position then I can check other possible empty places. Thanks again, mmm
