28 y o M - extreme nervousness, irritabilty , restlessness b4 going to work everyday for the last 6 months. He is plagued by recurrnt thougts of not being able to live up to his responsibilites at his office As a result he is unable to concentrate andperform hisduties well He is enagaged to be married soon. He spends sleepless nights thinking about the responsibilities of married life. He denies alcohol intake in the past, but since one month, has been drinking 2 bottles of beer daily to escape these distressing thoughts. A propranolol before any distressing situation B alprazolam C treat his alcohol dependence D ziprasidone E buspirone

not sure, but if it's performance anxiety I go with A, if it's generalized anxiety syndrome I go with E

i think its E cos it appears to be an generalized anxiety disorder Futher Vallia could u plz tell us y u think that a performance anxiety would be benefited by Propanolol cause it can be used for stage fright (tremors) but this doesnt represent as such, besides he facing this only for the past 6 mnths not from before than that. Plz shed light on the matter.

Yes this person has got generalized anxiety disorder ... Buspirone and Venlaflaxine are usually effective !! E.is the answer.
