hi guys,im new to this forum.it has been more than 2mo since i took CSA, & the reporting date written on the usmle web is 16aug,2006, hence my score report is n't updated at oasis yet.And many guys in these forum suggest to try the oasis trick after the score is updated on the OASIS,but despite this i tried the oasis trick,and it accepted my application nd gave me registration number,butididn't go further than that,i quitted the application process.im really really down since then.
my question is could my result be out nd reported to the ecfmg b4 being updated at the oasis? or updating the score at the OASIS nd reporting to the ecfmg is done at the same time? why some people get a reply saying you still have application, & why mine is seems going thru nd gave me Reg.number?

If ur score is not updated definetley OASIS trick will allow you to apply but as I see it score report will be updated on 08/16, So wait some more days. Don't loose hope and u will ace it any way.

thanks mate for replying me and wishing me a gud luck.i won't be trying it again until the 17th of aug.But god forbid on the 17 aug im n't mentally prepared for a bad out come,even though i wasn't impressed wit my performance during the CSA exam.By the way i u still waiting for CSA result or a u thru wit ur CSA? Thanks for the response and I am waiting for results of my CS. Most people in these forum do feel like they did bad but their results are to contrary so believe in ur self and hope for good. We miss points and no one is perfect in one way or other. Good luck again

this situation happened to me for my step2 ck ,but after score is reported inoasis ,it cahnged to u cannot reapply
so dont worry

Hey, it also allowed me to reapply after my step1 and i had terrible days thinking that I failed, I didn't even want to open the result when it arrived. But I passed. So do not get into any bad mood without seeing the actual result.
Good luck, i took the test on 22nd of july, I dont know when I will get the result. Did any of you applied for ERAS token yet?

for jul 16- sep09 the reporting date is oct 11-nov 08, wit most reporting done in the 1st two weeks.i have n't yet applied for eras token .i thought it would be best if im ecfmg certified 1st, i dont know if this is the right thing to do . i know many guys applying for eras token once they ar done wit step 1 & step2ck. but mind you, you pay for the eras tokens, so that is why im delaying it until im done atleast wit the csa.wish you best luck for your csa

We are on the same boat eyob estifanos. Just checked on my Oasis, until now it is still August 15, better check it tomorrow and try the Oasis trick after it is being updated. Goodluck on us!!!

im glad i have passed csa. my nightmare of the last time oasis trick is over. Very excited that i dont have to do enuresis, syncope, dizziness again, im done wit the csa. im wishing all of you guys the best luck

hi guys. i did my exam at phili. I could say all the cases ar from the UW course, nd FA short cases ar good for DDX.I had no difficalt SP/cases,but i was n't mentally fresh ,coz i went to bed very late,&wake up too early becouse i was travelling from gloucter city,NJ.The 1st case i was a bit nervous,but i had descent CSE: then the rest i would say my CSE was pretty good(c/o+liqourAAA +pam hug foss or,if c/o is n,t pain i followed c/o+AAA +pam hug foss)& good closure of the cases,including answering challanging questions).but didn,t do councilling at all, even on cases wit H/O ETOH,& smoking. i never forgot to wash hands,knock the door. Correctly used patient's
name,nd introduced myself by name.I was very good at empathy,used open ended question ,nd transition sentences when ever appropriate.Asked permission to do P/E,didn't forget draping,asked if it is ok to untie the gown,nd did a focused P/E.
completed all cases. My weakness were on the PN,espscially on the HPI portion i run short of space on most cases,& i was n't able to fit in important points(esp. SH/SXH/FH).some of the cases i couldn't make a list good DDx as fast as possible, then got abit nervous & started including a remote/unlikely possiblities in my DDX, even did n't keep orders in the listing of DDXs.My W/UP was resonably good,but still failed to mention some important tests,and did n't list the tests in proper orders. I also forgot to include some of my P/Es which i actually did on the SPs( especially the CNS ones )on PN.
Now my suggestion is HPI should be very focused on the C/O,AAA( +/-liqour if the C/O is pain), mention very few appropriate -ves/+ves.it is also good to have mental check list of DDX why you ar still reviewing the doorway information,if possible jotdown pamhugfoss &liqour aaa on the scrape paper b4 you knock the door.You will find many examinee knocking the door in a fraction of seconds, but i would say don't be rushing to enter the room b4 you do those i mentioned above,it won't take more than a minute, but it will save you from mental block& undesirable nervousness which could spoil your encounter very badly. Have a very good sleep the night before,coz it is good to have a fresh head which can click 3-5 good DDX/tests in a min, than a numb head which may need 3-5mins to make 3-5 DDX.Don't think about your omissions or errors in the previous encounters,as it is likely to happen especially in the 1st two cases.
CSA is not a difficalt exam. don't be bothered by some ommisions&mistakes,after all time is very limited nd completness isn't possible.

I'm very nervious because i'm taking my test next week at philadelphia too. I'm practicing everyday but can not complete the H & PE and the counseling in 15 minutes, and i'm allways short of time so i get really exhausted after a few cases. If you can give me some advise.

hi.Time is real issue in CSA, especially when you have neuro. cases. Belive me during my 1st practice of neuro-case it took me almost 11mins to do a complete neuro-exam,as in the UW course. But then after afew practices it was taking me 5mins. in a neuro exam try be as fast as possible,do each components briefly i.e motor on big muscle groups, DTR knee+ elbow, sensory on 3-4 areas bil. MMSE & CN you can't shorten it,but if you practice a few times you will have a faster flow. HPI- focus on C/O,but don,t forget to quickly go thru pam hug foss!! Closure of the encounter tell the sp 2 DDXs nd a few tests,mention to the sp about DRE nd Pelvic exam if indicated. Counselling: follow the style in the digitaldoc, very brief, nd you can do it in 1min. Take it easy, relax! I wish you a very good luck.
