BRS BS says: oxygen needs of brain during sleep and active thinking is the same. But kaplan says for decreasing ICP we need to decrease oxygen demand of brain by sedation! So..

i know that sleeping reduces oxygen demand same as hypothermia.

i would expect that active thinking would increase the oxygen demand

perhaps they were talking about REM sleep.. i wud guess it wud have a decent energy requirement too!
