hi, got my score for step1. am not happy. anyways, have to move on. i have started studying for step2ck a few days back, but still cannot get the required pace..... and i lack motivation too. so thought of starting my own diary so can keep track and motivate myself.
i have kaplan notes and dvds. started with surgery. did chapter on trauma, peds surg, gen surg, pre and post-op. listened to trauma dvd but could not complete.
this weeekend cant study much... so will start again seriously from monday. planning to complete kaplan surgery notes by 19th aug. will do dvds also.
any suggestions are most welcome... besides, motivate me.....

hi there usmle girl. i am going through the same pace you are in now. i am an img who finished my residency two years ago and was hoping i could make it here as an MD as well. I work 5 days a week in surgery and it is not helpful to be studying and working at the same time. Physical, mental and emotional stress pull me down. I need to know what would be best reviewers for my kind of situation. I just got my ck score last night and it was not good. My step 1 did not pass either. I would like to empathize with you and maybe we can continually guide each other through this pace. It is hard when no one can truly relate what we med people go through all these boards. Till then. Keep in touch.

i completed surg kaplan notes + listened to few chapters ( cud'nt complete ).
did q book 80 questions. started with a little med , but again wanna go back to surg for a few days and do the surg questions from other sources.

Hiii usmle girl, i m img too .... didn`t scored very wel in step 1 (84%ile) and i wasted around 6-8 wks becoz of depression........ now i recollected my energy n started for step 2 , planning to give in oct... if u wish we can decide few topics daily n try to complete it... i`ve finished one reading of all sub exept paedia...

hi usmlegirl i too started my step2 today with surgery trauma but did only one tape..actually i was depressed at my step1 score its 88...........have u finished surgery ..i am planning to subscribe usmle world ,did u

hi usmle girl, i`ve gone thro` the whole kaplan study material once so that i can underline the important things i need to know .... i didnt do a single qs while doing that.. now i m going retrospectively solving qs in q book and reviewing the text whenever required along with the explanations... this will cover the course both pros- and retrospectively....... wat stratgy r u following....... i m quit slow these days but i think i`ll catch up my pace very soon... GL

hi ethics....welcome to step2 prep. yes i completed surg. but just kaplan notes, not tapes. i m going to finish atleast 1 read of all subjects before starting usmle world questions.. goodluc to u.
hi guptashutosh,i can understand ur situation.... but m sure u will start picking up pace again. right now i m just aiming at completing all subs 1 time and do q book qs of evry sub i finish. i am not doing FA.

i completed gastroenterology yesterday night.(i know i m not working my ass off.. took more time... anyways...)
today plan on doing rheumat and if possible do preventive med coz it is'nt too much.
so starting the day now........................

Hie i just got my step 1 result 3 days back .. got 92 / 228 .. need a bit more in step 2 CK ..
Just started with Internal medicine . I ws finding study partners all over the web and THX GOD i find some ppl like me , 1st of all my introduction . am Muhammad Adrish from lahore pakistan. Graduated from Allama iqbal medical college in 2005.
I started without any kinda motivation few days back .. Doing endo at the moment . I hope we can make it together and can support each other as well.
Once again its realy realy nice to meet all of you. I will try to post here daily

I'm also preparing for step 2 ck. started yesterday.
I use Kaplan LN exclusively and will read IM first.
I will spend 15 days for first read of all LNs then do questions.
Hope to discuss with you in this forum.

hi everyone....i am going to start my ck prep from today...startiing with surgery from kaplan notes....
usmlegirl...since u have already done surgery from kaplan notes,is there anything that u would like to pass on to me when i study em...
robin....are u planning to read all of kaplan notes for ck in 15 days??...i'll try to keep pace with u...even though i dont think that 15 days is sufficent for me....
for everyone...does anyone plan to do anything besides kaplan notes here??like blue prints....i have heard that kaplan qbank for ck isnt as good as qbank for step 1...do u guys think that it will be worth doing(consider the investments people,time and money ) kaplan qbank just in first read just to get into the Q&A mode and not revise it later as we will have our hands full with UW in the subsequent readings....

hey robin, m glad to see u here. used to follow ur posts for step 1. well thats good that u r trying to finish notes in 15 days.
bluntknife..... i think kaplan is just good enough... make notes if u wish to, i wrote down fe points here and there. regarding questions i think, qbank to get hands on qs and then finally usmleworld.
