Isnt a delusion a false belief also,why not say this is a delusion.

idea of reference is a type of thought disorder included under delusion. BRS gives a table on it.

according to brs...idea of reference is a notion less strongly held than a delusion, in which a pt believes...
but in my question if he would have told his wife that the president and press are talking about me...then we would have chosen disorder of content of thought(delusion)....
though idea of reference comes under disorders of thought content,there is very narrow difference between delusion and this.
In delusion pt might not share his belief with others.
I have just tried to twist the question given in brs.
