i have read form all over that H1 is the ideal visa if you wish to stay in the usa. this ofcourse has made it very competettive to get into such programs, I do have competetive scores and have done my part in terms of externships but i feel discouraged by the fact that i may have to give up on my dreams because we may be forced to sign with a small community hospital in a tough loaction with little prospect of fellowship..........I am sorry i am ranting but i feel the trade off is so steep and the thought of doing step three now is hard enough.....i wonder how all of you handle this, what do you tell yourself to keep going or should i just bite the bullet on the J1 trail, ps the city I am in has a wondeful hospital which only offers J1, the program directors is so positive and wants me to apply here plus my relatives live here...anyways all the best to all of us H1 seekers we may meet in the crazy east coast
