After doing lots of research in various Path books, it seems to be involved in BOTH, yet the NBME thinks it's only involved in one...as both rolling and transmigration were answer options for the function of ICAM-1 :S

Acc to robbins, selectins r for rolling (first step of migration) and integrins r for adhesion (next step of migration).
