Can someone explain this to me:

Which of the following contaminants will be removed from a fluid passed thru 0.45mu filter?

A. Herpes Simplex Virus
B. HIV protease
C. Lipopolysaccharide
D. Mycoplasma hominis
E. Staphyloccoccus Aureus

my gut tell me to peak E.Mycoplasma and staph are the bacterias in the choice.And I know mycoplasma and chlamidia are the smallest bacterias.So I will chose E.
What is the answer?

i wud guess similarly. s aureus wud be a giant here

.45u filters everthing except Wall-less bacteria :Mycoplasma, Clamydia
.2u filters most bacteria + spores

what is the break down for viruses guys? do we need ot know what size filters will get them out? thanks.

I think this is a simple conceptual question. I doubt we're expected to memorize numbers...but just be able to pick out the largest organism of the group.

Clearly bacteria are larger than virus.

And between Staph and Myco, well it would help to know that Myco & Chlam, like Mitty said, are characteristically small.
