Hello people, I sent a nice email to a program in Chicago, asking if they would consider my application as I passed step 2 in my second attempt. they said: "We would be pleased to receive your application" But at the same time, they followed: "For your convenience, I've included our criteria: 1. ....... 2. Scores should be 85 and above on both parts USMLE first time tested. 3. etc." If I must have 85 and above first time tested, how can I apply as I passed my step 2 in the second attempt?

Yeah..diplomacy...a way to tell a guy to go to hell in a way that he looks forward to the journey... generally if a program has '"attempt screens"..it will tend to stick to them..so apply wisely, you will still make it a t a lot of places if you are careful in selecting programs.. goodluck!

thanks guys for your answers. If a programs says they don't sponsor visa, should I consider it as a diplomatic sign of IMG rejection? Who would otherwise sponsorize my visa?

If a program doesn't sponsor visas, then move on to the next program.

What I wanted to know is should I consider it as the message "IMGs are not welcome here" or does it simply mean that I could be welcome if ECFMG sponsors me

If a program says that they won't sponsor a visa, they usually mean that they won't fill out the paperwork that you would need to sponsor a visa. So even if ECFMG truely sponsors your J1b visa, the program won't do their part to get you sponsorship.
