Which blood vessels are involved in the trochanteric and cruciate anstomoses?

Collateral circulation in the hip joint is called the cruciate anastomosis - it includes:
- inferior gluteal artery
- medial femoral circumflex
- lateral femoral circumflex
- first perforating branch of the profunda femoris

Collateral circulation around the head of the femur is the trochanteric anastomosis - it includes:
- superior gluteal artery
- inferior gluteal artery
- medial femoral circumflex artery (the main supply of blood to the head and neck of the femur )
- lateral femoral circumflex artery
