hi, i read this forum alot, and had a few questions. i went to med school in the carribean. passed step 1 on second chance. passed step 2 on seventh chance, and passed the csa on first attempt. i am ecfmg certified. the reason it took so many attempts was i did not know i had a medical condition(low testosterone), which was affecting my memory and concentration. when it was finally diagnosed, i passed the step 2ck and graduated. i did all my clinical rotations in the usa. and honored them all. have three great letters of recommendations. what are good programs i should apply to? family practice? internal med? is anesthesia too much of a long shot? step one and two scores were in the 70's when passed. will program directors understand my situation? any advice would be greatly appreciated . thanks again

Make certain you address the medical condition and attempts in your personal statement. Good luck

I would say still aim for your passion, apply to a residency you want, and really think you'll be able to get into. Your LOR's and USCE, and visa status should help u along your way despite everything else. G/L

All the states have different rules, etc. I would only know for my state - not others. Sorry.
