Briefly explain the knee jerk reflex, mentioning the nerves involved in the reflex? What is the significance of this reflex ie is it diagnostic?

the 1alpha fibres perceive the stretch as we hit on the quadriceps tendon over the patella. They stimulate the lower motor neurons (alpha) for the quadriceps which extend the knee. Simultaneously the flexors are inhibited by reciprocal inhibition at the spinal cord. Significance. It is monosynaptic, hence confirms easier about the status of the reflex mechanism in the spinal cord(no interference from other neurons etc..) Can detect upper motor /LMN. aren't we stimulating the gamma neurons when we try the reinforcement, (by clenching fist, interlock and try to pull apart)?
