Hi, On the american board of thoracic surgery site, there is a categorical integrated thoracic surgery residency program. I have inquired with many P.D.s but no one seems to be running this program. Does anyone know about this integrated general+thoracic program? Where is it available? Thaknks.

check it out on freida. althoh ct surgery is bcomin very noncompetitive and aiims ms surg ppl fillin it up on j1. currently there is 1:1 ratio for applicants and spots. the inteven cards ppl have almost run them out of business. ppl sellin off their practices to hospitals and takin up administrative jobs.

CT surgery is becoming noncompetitive as apurva says, that's true. According to FREIDA, you have to study 5 years of general surgery and then you are able to do 2-3 years of CT surgery, good news are that you can be almost sure that you'll be accepted. it's true that nowadays isn't as it used to be but you still make tons of $ and it's very exciting and interesting. So, if you like it ...

i had heard of that combined program somewhere, maybe if we look in the websites of specific hospitals we could find one.
