"expert" is the last thing i am waive or not to waive is ur decison on basis of how close ur to attending. u can tell him that u want a sealed lor and download the eras cover sheet and give it to him. then try to collect back the lor and post it urself bcoz some attendings can be busy and forget..

address is the same market street one. sealed lor is one with a stamp and stuff which should only be opened by the appropriate person

excuse me, being ignorant, my prof in Egypt don't know what's that he've to write a normal Lor, mention he won't waive... then glue another paper on front of it then stamp on borders, then add the cover sheet.. right? or there R special form/enevelop for that?

a teaching hosp attending as a LOR writer is the best, the "creme-de-la creme", mon cher... any other doc (preferably us based) is doable... bottom line - just like for everything else in life - get the best ya can and accept the rest!

For the "waiver" thing, I would waive my rights. I take it as the issue of whether or not you trust the writer who you suppose to trust if you ask him/her to support your application, don't you think?! So here the question will be about who you would trust enough to ask for the reference letter instead of whether we need to waive or not...

abood - ur right ya akhi any1 can write an lor. but its prefered u get it from some1 who has seen u work in a clinical setting. flex - u cna do it bothways. some profs wanna save on fedxing a letter. u cud pick up the tab. cali - unless ur very sure its gonna b a strong 1 - dont waive. i got my strongest lors from most unlikely sources. and the ones i expected to be rockstar turned out to be flop/popstar apurva ps: yes im very antipop

ok, most of my professors told me to write what I want & he'll sign.. can I at the end make he choose: don't waive , so that I make the LOR stronger, then I take it after closing with stamp, to post it?

superabood, I think if you have this opportunity, it is better to waive, a bit tricky!
