Kaplan Qbank USMLE

Hi... I am an IMG planning to take my step 1 in 2 months... I already have read and watch Kaplan materials once... I plan to finish my second review in a month and after that start doing questions from qbank. I'm really starting to think time is never enough for this exam, specially since I have to work part time. Sometimes when I feel desanimated I get into this forums and somehow it cheers me up and give me hope that someday I'll get through this, with good results. When I started studying, my goal was always 99... and I know its possible because my classmates have acheived it, so why couldnt I? but since my time is limited, I really would be glad to just pass... hopefully with more than 90. Thats my issue... TIME! I am really trying my best... Wish me luck and pray for me! wink

Thank you guys! I forgot to say that I already heard Goljan audio... that guy is the best! though I got really bored at the end. I have done some questions from Qbook, but to me was very frustrating when I took the exams at first and got between 60s and 70s... so I left those questions for my second review which is now. I hope that Qbank questions are enough... I plan to complete them in 3 weeks... and take NBME 10 days before the exam. I really appreciate the forum support and I will keep you informed! THANKS AGAIN!

BTW... GOOD LUCK TO YOU ALL TOOOO

OMG... About 6 weeks from my exam, and still in my second review... and I really have a problem... my capacity to memorize (I'm talking about micro and pharm) is 0/10! I tend to read kind of fast, and I can learn a lot of things from micro, for example, but as soon as 2 or 3 days pass by, I remember half... and as days go on, the MEMORIZATION fades... and I really dont know what to do, cause its a lot of material to read 2 or 3 days before the exam... and I actually dont have that time. So you can imagine I'M SO WORRIED! I'm really willing a 250, so I HAVE A PROBLEM. Any sugestions??? And thanks to all of you for your support!

hi allymd,

i was in a similar situation, especially concerning microbio,
i have read fast through levinson/jawetz and then did not
remember much (and my microbio course was maybe half
a year ago!!!). then a friend borrowed me "microbiology
made ridiculously simple" - normally i would have been too
high-brow and arrogant to use a book like this but the
situation was critical as i had only two weeks before the exam.
so i gave myself 2 days to go through microbio MRS and it
really helped!!! it is a good tool especially to memorize stuff
you have already learned in a "serious" book (no offense to
mrs fans, i like it too, what i mean is the style).
good luck

PS: it also helps for the antibiotics! for the rest of pharm, i have
used the katzung review but it was quite a depressing issue...
though it is not katzung's fault... concentrate on ANS and
pharmacodynamics.
