Guys: I need your suggestions. I have only applied for surgical programs and only got one intv. call up til now. I am feeling bit unsafe. I cannot afford to get unmatch this year. The LOR's I have are only from surgical specialties. I wonder which specialty I can apply to using same surgical LOR's and still keep the chance of getting interview as a backup plan?

no, you cannot apply for pediatric surgery. Pediatrics experience is plus is you want to do pediatric surgery later. What about Transitional years. How easy it is to get them?
