I posted a similar topic a few weeks ago-but I still haven found my answer. I am scoring quite low and I am aiming for a competitive residency.i AM AT THE END OF MY EXTENDED PERIOD.I can only pay again and I gladly would for a higher score. 1.DOES ABSENCE TO THE EXAM LOOK BAD ON THE SCORE SHEET? 2.which will bring me MORE INTERVIEWS:a.80-90 first attempt b.absence.95-99 final score.

I have asked ECFMG the same question. Not sitting the exam does not go on your record. If you think you will do better with extra time then you should just reapply again. The only thing ECFMG said to me was to cancel my appointment at prometric center so someone else can sit the exam. Hope that helps. If you still want, you can call ECFMG and ask them the same question.

well as long as u cancel ur appointment or dont take it n make ur intention clear that u r not going to sit in the Exam then ECFMG wont Report t If However u sit on the EXAM n not complete leave it halfway or even if enter the center n sit on the pc (exam desk ) the test will be reported as failed n be mentioned on ur sheet. wht i have seen n read on this forum that some ppl with HIGH scores in all the Steps got not so good programs i believe at the End of the day Interviewers go for the person they think is best for them so whether we have high scores in 1 attempt or 2 what matters the most is how u do on ur interview day Some ppl say that if u have a US LOR then even a decent score can get u programs which r hard to get so its a combination of things rather 1 or 2 so if u really think that extra time can really boost ur score atleast by 5 % then making it in the ranges of upper 90s then take ur time Anywayz this was my 2 cents on the topic i hope I have helped u Good Luck N Happy Studying
