Can any one tell me what happens after doing a int med prelim year?

Does one get to join PGY2 or does one have to do PGY1 again at some other program?

What r the chances of getting a PGY2 position? And if one does get a PGY2 position, when does that start? Assuming i start a prelim position in Sept, when do i start PGY2?

I have a lot of conflicting views regarding this...any solid opinions and clues wud be greatly appreciated!

I would like to know the same. Since most likely I will do the same and then tranfer to another program or I cuould stay in the same one.

A little bit of both things happen. I've seen residents taken in as PGY 2's and I have seen residents that join another 3 year categorical program.

If you start September 7th in a program, your year will finish on September 6th.

It's going to be rough to find a program that is willing to continue you off cycle.

Good luck
