lets try to simplify this...there r two cases in which minor and 'all other wounds'are treated similarly
1.3 or more doses and ≤5 years since last dose
great--do nothing for either
2.3 or more doses and >10 years since last dose
all u need is tetanus vaccine, preferably Tdap for ages 11-18. NO ig is needed.

there are 2 cases where management varies depending on wether a wound is minor or not..
1.when is the difference Immunoglobulin (TIG)?
when VACCINATION Unknown or < 3 doses.
in both minor and others we give the vaccine. hower in hte minor Ig is NOT reqd.
2. when is the dif in management the teteanus vaccine?
3 or more doses and 6-10 years since last dose.
if minor DO NOTHING
IF aother, Td or Tdap (Tdap preferred for ages 11-18)

ratio male:female 4:1
presents with dysphagia first to solid

dont worry sheena..this is the chronic stigma of a USMLE preparor ( is that a word ??)
hardly anyone duz what they plan to, everything seems to take longer than it shud, and we all seem to be too slow..but looking at past records, we do make it in the end.

Recommended postexposure prophylaxis for exposure to hepatitis B virus..lets try and simplify it somewhat.
IF Mr/ms exposed unvaccinated ALL need Hep B vaccine.
if source is hepBsAg positive, also give the above HBIG.

- known responder, ( anti Hb s =10 or more) YIPPY!! no treatment reqd as pt well protected.
