yes, CO shift the curve to the left and decrease the O2 carrying capcity of the Hb, thus the curve bend downward. So, the curve turn left and bend downward.

that is what I thought, but I read in Step up (Samir Mehta) that CO does not cause any change ::very_confused::

i don't have that text, but i do notice that sometimes, different book say different things, i confirm that with Physio by Costanso. Like in Micro/ immuno. Kaplan, mixed up the Light and Heavy chain on the Ig labeling! it was so confusing!!

u r right guest co poisoning shifts the curve to the left and downwards it becomes flatter and carrying capacity is reduced

You might be thinking of CN...cyanide does not affect the O2 curve, although both CO and CN inhibit cytochrome oxidase.
