Hi, I posted my exam experience before (very old graduate by veterana), and got my score yesterday. It was low, but enough (205,83) to pass!!
For all people who believe that age and years after graduation are a big limitation, that's not true. Determination and discipline are the keys to get over these things, as most in life. I graduated 25 years ago, I've studied ligth for 3 months and hard (but not full time because I work 8 hours a day) for other 3 months. My score was a little lower than the average gotten with 3 NBME, but I think it was because I got exausted after the 5th block and i started answering fast without thinking enough (I just wanted to finish).
Any way, I'm happy, and ready to start my preparation for the next one.

Thanks for the support!!

oldkidontheblock, I spent one year and 4 months to review step1. I just used night and weekends to review because I have a full time job.

Real life?
This year one of my friend 52y.o. got residency in IM in NY.
She practiced medicine in her country all her life and she impressed PD with her hard working life and even got prematch position Everything is possible. In her pr-m mostly FMG,( yes. but younger )but her scores on tests during the residency much higher than their. So, she told she is very confident with nurses, doctors, residents...
One more, she is very nice person... This is important too....

  #20

very inspiring. Age is in the mind, and you have proved it

  #21

yes, I practiced medicine in my country, but had to start as a new student when faced basic science. It was very hard.
Now I am studying for step 2CK and feel much more confortable.
Thanks everybody who supported me.

  #22

congratulations. i was very encouraged by you seeing that you were 25yrs since grad. am 'just' 17yr and i feel old too. i also did very well at step 1 and i am praying for something as good at step 2.

i think it is a good idea to find a local practise and work with them even if it is once a week. that will go a long way when you want to match. and it will also help with the csa cos you will be familiar with the mannerism of doctors here.

all the best at step 2.
