plz guide me??? I am a 29 IRANIAN GP , I have been always interested in studying GYNAECOLOGY which has been prohibitid in my country for men. I travelled to Australia 7 months ago to assess the condition of pursueing further education , but honestly I found it absolutely hard and due to special medical system that Australia has , I am sure it will take more than 10 years. I came back IRAN 2 months ago , and I am going to prepare my self for usmle step one in may . Do you think that 8 months with at least 10 hours per day is enough? and could you please do me a favor plz and tell me the most suitble book for each subject ... YOURS SINCERELY MOHAMMAD REZA

Hi Reza I think 8 months with 10 hours of study per day is fair enough. If you plan from now and keep up with your schedule you can make it. Books recommended are Kaplan Lecture Notes for Physio, Pharma, Micro, Beh.Sc, Biochemistryalong with their dvds, Goljan Rapid review for Patho with audio cd, Higy yield Gross Anatomy, Embryo, Neuro, Histo. Also supplement your study with First Aid, Web path cd atlas with MRIs and CT Scans. Do mcqs from Kaplan Q book and Q bank, NMS, Kaplan simulated cd and also online NBME. Try to do 3-4 revisions of the text and as many mcqs with time management as possible. Hope this helps.
