SLIGHT SPASTICITY OF LEGS: lower nervous system
GENERRALIZED HYPERREFLEXIA: upper nervous system

-> MYELOTROPHIC LATERAL SCLEROSIS

  #5

Sorry, SLIGHT SPASTICITY OF LEGS should be upper neuron lesions. Atrophy in this case is the lower motor neuron signs.

  #6

correct answer is A

  #7

i dont understand why the answer cannot be E?!!

  #8

i wud agree with E/ mixed uper and lower motor neuron injury

I would have also said E but i looked it up in Kaplan and Progressive Spinal Muscular atrophy is a variant of ALS in which LMN predominates. In this case, we have weakness and atrophy hinting towards LMN lesion whereas only SLIGHT spasticity for UMN lesion. Hope my reasoning is correct!!

I dont get how the "stiffness of fingers" fits in, but everything else points towards E!
