In sickle cell anemia pt--which organism is most common cause of osteomyelitis.
staph or salmonella
iam very confused
salmonella is more common in sickle cell (iam sure abt this)

in UW, they provide you good evidence based information that suports that it is salmonella.

But, in other resources such as Kaplan, crush the boards, harrisons of internal medicine, and during your rotations, you will realize that this is staph.


it depends on your sources...


I would go for Staph (the most common), in everithing has to do with wounds and all that stuff...but as I told you, some people can give you GOOD reasons why they would choose salmonella.


Just hold on to one answer..and thatīs it.

whe I took kaplan Qbank: I got it right

choose the resourse you trust the most. take a deep breath and go ahead. CHAMPION.
