Please, please, please. For those of us that have not taken some of the NBME's please put an announcement that your question is from an NBME and please state which form. I just took one yesterday and recognized a few questions on this board from form number 2. I would like to use them as a test before I use them as a learning tool, if you know what I mean. Thanks! Moderators, maybe this could be a sticky?

I can totally relate! There is a sticky/pinned topic pertaining to this in the support forum...but I'll pin it up here too. There have been repeated requests by some members and myself to label these questions aptly...to no avail apparently.I haven't been able to log in for a couple of days....I assume the new questions posted are all NBME qs(haven't taken form 2 as yet...so wouldn't know)...but I'll tk a quick peek and edit the titles to the new ones posted... *sigh* p.s: karusmle...you need to add the word NBME to the titles of the qs you post.My exam is drawing close and I really can't spend much time editing the titles to all the questions you post...so please be considerate and add the NBME.

Hey guys, I really like questions being posted and all, but if we are willing to participate in an open forum discussion we should follow certain rules: First, always treat another member with respect (respect above all) Second, if you pick a choice and you are trying to convince everyone why you are right, do it, BUT IN YOUR OWN WORDS.. Im totally against of google searches and paste ons.. Everytime I see one of those types of senseless, souless, extensive explanations it just makes me feel like killing someone (just kidding). AND I NEVER READ THEM... Remember in order for this to work in your preparation the only place you should be looking for an answer is YOUR BRAIN.. Third, Respect among peers again.. For silent observers: I would be very glad if everyone could join.. For us, who make mistakes: If I/you/we dont know the answer thats ok, just accept the fact I/you/we cant know everything in medicine. Just by participating in a discussion shows how we are willing to improve ourselves everyday because we are taking risks of people trying to make fun of our mistakes, but thats ok its worth it! Add anything you want everyone is invited..

AGREE those huge "GOOGLE-COPY-PASTE" articles do absolutely nothing, and teach nothing. This chat is not to try to convince the others that youīre a genious (If I was a genious I wouldnīt be in this forum) we are here to get rid of our ignorance, not to try to ridiculize the coleague from the anterior post... donīt take it personal but EXPRESIONS like: -THANNK YOU -SORRY I WAS WRONG!!! -CAN YOU EXPLAIN THAT TO ME? NOT ONLY CAN MAKE OUR DAY DURING THE EXAM, THOSE EXPRESSIONS CAN SAVE OTHER PERSONīS LIFE (THATīS WHY WE ARE HERE). and once again thank you Mazinger for raising your hand!!!

completely agree mazinger. Those rules are necessary to have a better discussion. (BTW, i remember that cartoon, it was very famous when i was a kid, mazinger Z, wasn't it?)

and it's true, these discussions are about cases for the boards but for real patients in real life for all of us who work and will work all our life (i hope) as a doctor. so, it's important.

Totally agreed but cant we mention the source of our logic n rationale. i mean if i come up with answer shouldnt i have some reference to back me so maybe if i could paste the link then someone can agree with with me or maybe point out that i took the wrong impression of the article n made a mistake. The point of this forum is not to prove to everyone that we r good its to prove that we can help each other n have a good discussion regarding a topic n we shud expect ourselves to be humble COS AS FRANK mentioned it if I were a genious wht am i doing here Totally agreee with u guys

well said mazinger! i dont mind if people google something and copy paste stuff. it helps in many ways. for the individual who is searching. ( we all should have better searching techniques its important you and I will need lots and lots of internet usage during residency and later - why not built good skills and start searching ) its more authentic . the source usually is CDC, eMedicine, journals, .gov sites, wikipedia etc. so instead of searching our brains (which is not bad) the information source is more reliable and tested. for the rest who cant/dont want to search gets a readymade answer. respect and be respected
