1. I need to get all the info about the residency programs in the US, I mean anything regarding the daily activity, when they start, when they quit, the residents and IM doctors level of satisfaction, the amount of stress, etc. I have already visited the aamc website "carrier of medecine" without satisfaction Does someone know a resident forum? (I'm interested in internal medecine) 2. I also need to know the list of all the programs, their description and their requirement. Thanks very much for the help

most programs have a sample schedule on their web-sites... as for individual satisfaction, that you will have to wait for interviews... you really cannot fully know a program until you get there... that is where the 6th sense comes in...

the bottom line is that one will never know everything abt a program during interview day or if one goes for a second look coz programs as well applicants try to brush up their image n make everything seem perfect...if u get an email of one of the residents n ask them questions regarding the program after ur interview...no one will ever tell u that their program is bad or residents work too much...they might say 80 hour work rule is followed but might also add that there is good amount of work load too....unless u have one of ur best friends or a family member u will never get the inside picture of a program...take into consideration the pay scale too...its important coz wat u will get after deducting taxes might not b enough for someone with a big family where only one spouse is working..n if one is moving from a different country or a diff. state here in US..be prepared for few rough months in the beginning.....all programs r not same..where work load is too much....one might not learn much as one is always busy with patients n so r attendings...most of the teaching will come from ur upper level residents...but make sure not to accept a prematch hastily[ unless its from one of ur top choices]...n dont sell urself short...hope this helps...good luck
