I had my step 2 cs last month.
It was most horrible test in my life.
I know its difficult for me to clear the test this time.I just wanted to know if there is any chance of mine passing this test.
I couldn't complete within time in 4 cases.I had just finished the examination part n time was over. I didn't did opthalmoscopy in 3-4 cases where i think it was needed.
I did very, very focussed examination.Just did the the system which the patient was complaining of.
My pt note wasn't great.I think its legible but it doesn't look very tidy to read.Missed very few points in history.did the usual stuff like draping, washing hands, open ended question, answering pt concerns ,making eye contact, etc.
so what r the odds of mine passing this test?

plz just don't read only..........give some honest opinion

Hey jazzy, you remember your mistakes only after the exam, but sounds like you did a lot. I had my test last week and I forgot to wash my hands twice, I forgot to do ophthalmoscopy, but I am still thinking I did many things. It is not a natural patient-doctor setting up and I couldn't feel that those were real patients. When I was in the tested feeling, It was hard to be natural. Especially morning session. But afternoon session is longer and that lunch break definitely helps to decrease the stress. You will do good. I hope I will pass too. Let us know your result, we will all celebrate! grin

bo
what do you mean Afternoon session is longer? from 3Pm to when? There is no 30 min break for afternoon session?

Thanks

I am in the same boat.I think I did terrible in the exam, especially first two cases.I didnt washed my hands in the first case,SP had to remind me to do that.I appologised and never repeated that mistake. My voice was shaky in first few cases.I forgot to pull out the leg extensor in all cases except one when SP had to request me to do that.I missed a lot examinations in many cases and some history questions too especially in neuro cases. However I found the PN part easiest of all and I did reasonably well in those.
I think we all feel nervousness after the exam but lets hope they see the overall performance.Cant wait for the results.

Morning session had 5 cases and afternoon, after lunch had 7 cases, there was a 30min cofee break in the afternoon. That's what I meant. Morning session was so fast, I couldn't think straight, but after sitting having lunch and relaxed a bit, it was better in the afternoon. Good luck.

Hi

I took my exam in 18 july , unfortunately 2 days after they decided to change their policy but they never told us any where how they are scoring us with the new policy and of course they are going to report it very late too, I have 2 qs

Have u heard from any where that how they score us ( previously they were saying that if some body fails in 3 cases still has chance to pass but with the new method nobody knows what will happen)

do u know when we can use oasis trick ,

I feel so bad about my exam I forgot bunch of qs to ask and 3 to 4 cases I didn't get the chance to close the encounter and give the differentials to patient

as soon as my p exam finished the proctors knocked the door and i had to say just bye and i ll be back soon,I am so depressed

Hi Patricia,
I have no idea about scoring system........
When score date is reported in oasis then u try to apply again through iwa in ecfmg website..if u passed the test then it won't allow u to reapply again but if u (god forbids )fail then it will allow u to reapply again but i have heard that it is not 100 % accurate so for accurate result rely on the report posted to u by mail.
hope it helps ........good luck............smiling facesmiling face

Hello jazzy, I took the CS in june 7. i made mistakes in almost all the patients. i dont know why i forgot the draping in 4 encounters, maybe it was nervousness. also forgot the pam hugsfoss in one encounter(nervousness?), forgot to ask smoking history of a COPD patient(retardednes). I did knock on door, washed hands, pronounced patients names correctly, ofered water to coughing patients and all other cordialities evaluated in this test. performed a focused physical along with cardio/pulmoray examination to all patients. the notes i think i did ok cause i dont remember any mistakes and completed all of them in time. never in this forum i have read an exam experience with so many mistakes... but after my CK experience i know anything is posible so who knows maybe i scored over 65% and i passed.
