hi everyone

i was wondering if one applies to Pediatrics and Pediatrics/Internal Medicine residencies in the same hospital will the PDs know if an applicant has done that ? plus will it reflect lack of commitment to a specialty and decrease chances of an interview in both programs?

again this is a common question , so experienced members' input will be helpful

thanx a lot

Most chances are that the two won't know if you are applying to different programs. Unless the Peds PD and Peds/IM are the same person.

i don"t think it"s a good idea to apply at same place in two programs. still u can try in big ones

i was going to apply to both of these specialties but it so happens that most programs that have pediatrics/med combined also have pediatrics .... ....so i guess there isnt anyway of avoiding the risk

i guess the risk comes with it and bbb to tell u the truth i was going to decide whether to take the risk or not based on ur advice.

but if u dont have an answer i guess not many have ..

so i decide to apply both programs anyways

thanx

I don't have an answer because we don't have a combined program and I don't know how a PD would look at it.
