Can anybody add points to this list. factors increasing GFR : *increase renal blood flow *decrease sympathetic activity *efferent arteriole constriction *afferent arteriole dilation *dcrease in plasma oncotic pressure Factors decreasing GFR : *Complete urethral obstruction. *large drop in B.P. * vasoconstriction of afferent arterioles *increased sympathetic activity

these are the points I have too. Just thought of one condition... in shock the Prostaglandins are keeping the afferent arteriole dilated, so we should not give Aspirin and NSAIDS.

yes all these pts plus increased angiotensin 2 secretion which causes more efferent vasoconstriction than afferent thereby increasing gfr , decreasing rbf and increasing the filtration fraction.thanx for that pt about shock meg
