A3 month old boy is brought to the physician in January because of dificulty breathing, clear nasal discharge and cough for 24 hours. t: 37.6, BP: 88/54, pulse: 168, and respirations are 60. Bilateral wheezing, prolongued expiration, and a grade 2/6 systolic murmur along the left sternal border are heard. The liver is palpated 3cm below the right costal margin. An x-ray film of the chest shows bilateral hyperinflation and no cardiomegaly. I havent reviewed pediatrics yet, but I go for RSV bronquiolitis... Frank, guys any opinions...

me too rsv bonchiolitis. a, c, e show infiltartions and consolidations, not hyper inflation.

liver and spleen may be palpated if there is hyperinflation, chf we need other findings on examination. status? will it be there for more than 24 hrs?
