wud appreciate ur frank response to this question especially from the forum seniors and those who have been thru the grind of the match......

with cs date of october 31 and ecfmg certificate expected in last week of december 2006 is there any realistic chance of givin step 3 in time and hopefully gettin hands on h1b residency????thanks in advance....

yes it is suggested that atleast u have your step-3 1-2 weeks b4 your rol deadline a pass in step-3 can certainly add to your cv.

If you get certified in last week of december it would still be atleast one month before you can schedule your step 3 exam.I havent been through the grind of the match yet but as far I know most community programs offering H1 visas have their deadline for Jan 31 for step 3 results.However some programs can be more flexible than others.

u wont get a h1 prematch.. but if by some trick u get ecfmg certified by dec begin, apply for s3 and give it before jan 20 - and get ur s3 score by rol deadline of feb 20.. then u cud just might be ranked..

i dont know if progs submit rol on feb 20 or before that.. or if they revise it again around feb 20.. bbb?
