The ribose phosphate form can inhibit de novo purine ring syn.,as well as AMP and XMP from inosinic acid

What about HGPRT ?
Does it inhibit it ?

  #4

HGPRT activates 6MP and the activated form then inhibits purine synthesis

thanks meg.
now i have clear idea about it.

thus the neoplastic cells show resistance to 6MP by inactivation of gene encoding hypoxanthine phosphoribosyl transferase.

yes, you are right about the resistance to 6MP
