hi is there any one who can advice me about to give practice exam or not?is it worth or not?> also what is mean my nbme tests 1 2 or 3 it means different blocks or they are different tests so I have to spend 45$on alll these 3 or on single test?plz re[ply me regards shumaila

NBME 1,2 and 3 all r three different exams? $45 for each. what do u mean by practice exam? do u mean NBME or some thing else? GL

shalu practice exam is the one at prometric center in which u can go to be familiar with surroundings the questions are of usmle cd one nothing new

practice exam is same as u got a CD from ECFMG. u have to do same CD over there. it's up to u. it's not worth to do but if u r scare of prometric center than better to go for it. and if u have enough money to spend on it(kidding)..Gl

Hi, hope u can take some time out n answer some of my queries regarding NBME.. there r three forms of the nbme, wch one to take if i will be taking only one before my exam.. taking 3 or 1 wud be better? n there would be 4blocks... do they let us review the answers after we have finished the test?n do the give explanations? or do thy just giv the score.. n do thy giv any correlation with the usmle score?n do thy giv the weak areas n strong.. ? i know thy r a lot of queries... looking forward to ur reply...... i wish u the best for ur exams also.... may u succeed in gettng into ur dream residency.. neo

I doubt it really makes any difference which of the 3 forms you take; they are just 3 different tests that are all meant to give a rough estimate of your performance. There is no progression from test-to-test as far as I know, meaning they aren't meant to be any harder when moving from form 1 to form 3. Yes, there are 4 blocks of 46 questions, in similar format to what is given on the CD. Unfortunately, I wasn't even able to see what the correct answers were. In that way the CD is more helpful. However, the online tests give you an overall performance report telling you how you performed amongst the different subjects. It will also give you a 3-digit score, based with a mean of 500 and standard deviation of 100, from which you correlate that score to a 3-digit USMLE Step 2 score. I think this answers your questions. I only took form 2 so I can't say for sure how the different forms compare. Just took the real exam yesterday, so in about a month I'll be able to see how good of a predictor it was. Good luck.
