Hello everyone, I was advised by the prep4usmle seniors to go for an elective during the final year, insted of step1 (as it risks ur score)! I really respect it....as i realise it now .... final year's really hectic!!! I've been trying to grab a place for clerkship since then. But I've a query, there's a med school in NY, which will give J1 visa, and nothin else. Will it hurt me ahead, when i'll try for my steps! Coz i've heard J1 visa's status doth change??? Sorry if this is a wrong post at the wrong place! Thanks in advance, will really acknowledge your support!

Sorry, you aren't eligible for a J-1 visa until you are ECFMG certified. It's a visa for professionals, not medical students.
