in Wiskott-Aldrich syn why do we have thrombocytopenia ? (what defect causes it?)

  #2

there is a genetic defect in the formation of actin of the cytoskeleton. i dont understand the details well. the defect results in abnormal growth, endocytosis, cytokinesis and exocytosis

as far as I've understood the platelets lack CD43( membrane sialophorin), and splenectomy corrects their thromboctypenia but not other problems.

so we put our knowledge together. the gene responsible for the cytoskeleton is said to be responsible for the lack of CD43 which is present on the villi.
