hi everybody
I don't understand what's the 1st time I'll need my original medschool certificate
what's the dead line after which I must send them?
my college will give them in Feb. canI apply for this year? (I'll have alreaty a letter from college with my scores)

well u need around min 2months from the day u send ur degree to ecfmg till ur verification part of ecfmg certi will be completed.. they do not accept provisional certis.. in short i think it will be difficult for u2 get ecfmg certified before april end.. and hence not be able to give s3 before june.. bad news if ur lookin for a h1..

well, I'm not looking for s3 , but can I match into resedecy without being ecfmg certified till april ?

U have to be ecfmg certified to enter your rank order list,that is on 21st Feb.I am in the same boat.Will get my degree in Jan,so am not applying for this year.If there is any way let me know.

no.. u dont have to be ecfmg certified at rol.. u have to have passed the exams.. u have to be ecfmg certified when u join residency.. call ecfmg up and ask.. i had a similar issue.. the rule u say applies to amgs whose dean office has to certify them before rol deadline.. our deans office ecfmg is much kindersmiling face

Apurva is correct. You need the ECFMG certification to be licensed in the states - but not to go through the match.
