Does anyone have a good way to remember the HLA's for all the diseases

Please post any helpful mnemonics... thanks.

ive given up on those..
just end up concentrating on the basic ones taaking hints from the no of letters
IDDM-DR 4( and one less)
SLE-DR 3 (and one less 3)
MS--DR 2

Lyme -DR4 ( i think)

Qeliac disease--DQ
(celiac disease DQ 2or 8)

one simple one u have to commit to memory
RA--HLA DR 4

this covers most of the Ez ones in Kaplan immuno... when i try to ambitiously learn all i forget even these

HLA-DR

H - Hashimoto
L - sLE
A - Addisons
D - Diabetes [2], Dermatitis herpetiformis
R - Rheumatoid Arthitis

HLA-B

P - Psoriasis
A - Ankylosing Spondylitis
I - Inflammatory bowel disease
R - Reiters syndrome

One more thing about HLAs - Class II MHC diseases are more common in women - so HLADRs are more common in women - whereas Class I MHC diaseases are more common in men - e.g. Ankylosing Spondylitis..

I know the PAIR one...

The HLA DR one is excellent.... but we have to know the difference between DR 1-5!!!

2 and 3 SLE... it rhymes! smiling face
