Well after taking my Step 1 almost 1.5yrs ago, i became lazy to prepare for step2 ck and step 2cs, however with eras opening soon i had to take my exams, ihave been mainly focusing on step 2ck, but with scheduling problem, i had to take my CS before the CK, which left me with 2wks to study for.
i only bought the FA for CS book which by the way is worth its weight in gold. and read through it about 1 time thoroughly and redid the cases one more time. i practiced only history taking as that is my greatest weakness, i didnt have a plan of attack and that was my problem, writing notes and doing a physical exam is easy for me.
i read though digitaldoc's blogspot website and got used to the mneumonics, i used LIQORAAA PAMHUGSFOSS and for social i used SODA (smoke, occupation, drug, and alcohol) and for misc q's i used DAWE(diete, appetite, wt changes and exercise)
my exam was at 3pm, i was very nervous and anxious for maybe the first 2-3 patients, but i realized that all of these cases i have seen before from the FA book. the schedule works liek this, 5 encounters, then 30min lunch/dinner then 4encounters and 15min break and then last 3 encounters, for a total of 12 patients to be seen.
i wrote with pen and paper for the notes and by the 5 patient my hand was tired and fatigued.
the cases are directly out of FA, and even the challenging Q's was directly out of the FA book, i felt as if the day was a flashback to when i was practicing,
I did however run out of time to interview one patient. and i blanked out on DD's for another patient, but overall i knew what i was doing and i did everything that digitaldoc and FA told me to do, i think i passed, i had no problems with english because i was born and raised here, but at the same time, i used to using slang and i had to correct myself a couple of times.

dipti - i really dont know how to compare the exam patterns from before and after. i studied for the worse cases possible, making my weaknesses my strengths.
