Circumferential third-degree burns of the extremities are frequently associated with decreased peripheral blood flow. The most accurate method for assessing peripheral blood flow in these patients is

well it has to be peripheral pulses then. i am using kaplan cd live lectures who r given out by pestana n he explains that whenever the word 'circumferential' is used with burns, who should know that blood supply is at risk (first the venous flow n then arterial flow gets compromised) n dx should include capillary refill assessment n peripheral pulses. n tx is escharotomy

the last post is by me as 'guest'

but the question is "most accurate"
so i think the answer should be U/S flow monitoring

  #7
