that's the bad thing shbhatti, they won't return any document to you, they don't care if they are originals. so the ideal would be that you have several original lors, i guess.

Thank you chemamr

But this is very difficult. Actually most of the people have one or 2 LORs taken couple or more years back and it is very difficult to get them again. There must be something which we can do. Why not to send the copies --by reading this thread it is obvious that the only harm in submitting LOR copies is that it is stamped on the uploaded copies that it is a copy --which should be ok because it is not hurting the application in any way -- or is it? bbb can you please answer this?

Thank you.

Post #14 above answers your question: Per the ERAS web site - if you can't submit an original, submit copies and they will be stamped that it's a copy. It's not a big deal

just one more addition..i wrote to ERAS, they said signatures in black ink would also be acceptable..i dont think they are following those guidelines very strictly

also they are plannin to start a new service to return lors back.. but its not operational now..

im sendin copies of my us lors.. have just 1 set.. let them stamp it copy.. can show original at iview or ask them to call the lor writer if theyre paranoid..

if some pd doesnt call just bcoz eras stamps copy on lor and thinks that its my adobe photoshop magic tricks at work - too bad!

yes, i guess we can do that, if you simply can't, send copies and that's it.

Another tip guys, i asked ERAS about the photo and they say that although they prefer color photos, we can also send black and white photos and it's ok. (i also had black and white, so i asked them).
