**drpkaur, this post is getting a GOOD COUNT in a short period of time. Its a shame the forum is so TIMID, LAME, WEAK, MEAK, AND NON-CONTRIBUTORY about responding to such a significant post with all the millions? of drugs out there.

mjl, please be moderate in your criticisms. it is a gift to be able to contribute and not a chore. so those who can should continue to contribute and those who cannot should continue to benefit without fear of criticisms. this is an open forum and we all make a choice to contribute or not at all.

study-ing, USMLE is so rigid from my little experience. the books say to give first dose in your office and so we will say that. i suppose it is more cos you want to monitor the degree of blood pressure drop with the first dose. that is the safest answer and not to give it at night. what if pt gets up to go to the bathroom?? by the way, it happened to my mom. she slumped in the bathroom. luckily i was home. i had to take her quickly to the hospital!!!
