A HIPANIC AMERICAN 19 YEAR OLD BOY FROM A RICH FAMILY

WAS CAUGHT DRIVING WITH AN ALCOHOL LEVEL OF .09 %

AND HAD TAKEN TWO TABLETS OF DIAZEPAM . WHICH HE CONFESSES

WHAT CAN U SUGGEST REGARDING THE AGRESSION LEVEL AS COMPARED TO A NORMAL

19 YEAR OLD BOY FROM AN ANGLO AMERICAN FAMILY

A) REDUCED

B) SLIGHTLY INCREAESED

C) VERY LARGE INCREASE

D) NO DIFERENCE

E) CANT COMMENT FROM THE AVAILABLE DATA

i would choose slightly increased. cos at that blood level he would be legally drunk with a slurred speech and be gregarious. he should become combative at 0.125 -0.150%. with diazepam, he should be calmer but i dont know it would calm him down to normal.

i wud say E or A
alcohol can cause disinhibition at low doses, inhibition at high... i dont think there's a defined cut off or the pharma bks wud have mentioned it...plus effects of alcohol cant be simply predicted on a blood level---tolerance etc cum into play..
to top it there is interaxn btw diazepam and alcohol.

I would say A, because alcohol even makes greater the potency of the diazepam

i love u star

the catch here is

both alcohol and bzd 's both reduce agression at low doses

and of course potentiate each other

and at high doses both are causes of agression

hey PALLAV despite this Iam a bit scared because my test is just after 24 days and I have to solve all the NBME Qss....

lets see how this turned out ..

by the way when u are taking ur test?
